1. Freelancers Pay the Ultimate Price
For those of us fortunate enough to live in a developed
country such as the United States, it's easy to forget
that some freelancers face serious dangers in their
everyday working lives. In the last week alone, freelance
journalists have been murdered in Japan and Nepal for
investigating criminal activities.
Sometimes we think life is tough when we hit a quiet
patch on the jobs front, or when deadlines become
overwhelming. So it is important to remember how lucky we
are to enjoy creative and profitable careers in an
exciting profession.
If you would like to do something to help freelancers
facing oppression in countries around the world, you can
make a real contribution by joining Amnesty
International:

$100, payable upon successful testing. You can work from
home.

3. Find Freelance Projects
You're probably familiar with eLance.com, but what about
eNance.com?
This site is similar to eLance in many ways, and claims
to be a better way to manage service procurement. It
allows you to market yourself as a seller of professional
services, and bid for projects offered by a range of
companies:

5. Keep in Touch with Clients
'Out of sight, out of mind' may be a familiar phrase, but
it still rings very true. Once you have finished a job
for a client, make sure that you are still top of the
call list when the next job comes up.
There's no harm in making a friendly phone call once in a
while, or sending a note if you find an article that the
client may be interested in.
Making the effort to stay in touch is not difficult, but
it can make all the difference when it comes to obtaining
repeat business

Testimonials
"I took a chance one day when I was flush and sent a few bucks to gain access to the Go Freelance Professional Edition. Since then, I've edited a sales letter, a follow-up letter, an 11-page Web site, and a brochure. I'm 'on call' to do pinch-hit proofreading for a medical newsletter editor in Florida ..and I've landed a gig editing a new Canadian magazine coming out this fall. All this from taking a chance on Go Freelance."

"Once again, you guys have come through with incredible results. Our job post definitely produced the type and quality of person we needed, and we found who we were looking for quickly. From now on, you're my first choice when I need to hire someone."
