1. Internet Company Embraces Telecommuting

While many traditional companies are still wary about telecommuting,
Internet company SiteSell is a testament to how well the system can work.

The companies 36 employees are scattered around the world, in Canada,
England, Australia and even Anguilla. Most have never met face to face, yet
the company continues to prosper.

“I don't know whether my employee is working at four in the morning, or
whether he's asleep at four in the morning," says CEO Dr. Evoy said. "All I
measure is one thing: output."

For SiteSell, telecommuting clearly works. The company expects revenues of
around $50 million this year, and is continuing to grow and expand.

5. Take Your Deadlines Seriously

A recent survey showed that the one thing clients hate when working with
freelancers is missed deadlines.

Of course, we all hit problems occasionally, and it may be simply impossible
to hit a deadline that seemed realistic when you first agreed the dates. But
if you really find yourself running late, contact the client, discuss the
problem, and see if you can revise the deadline. This could make all the
difference to the way your work is perceived.

All this from taking a chance on Go Freelance."
