David asks…

What do you think of my evidence on God's existence and activity?

The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls has provided strong evidence for the belief that Daniel’s prophecies were made before the actual events he prophesied happened; the book of Daniel is believed to have been written from around 606 B.C. to 536 B.C. 2 In Daniel 2:31-45, the prophet Daniel symbolically identified the five great kingdoms that would rise up and control much of the world, beginning in Daniel's lifetime.

The Babylonian Empire. The head of gold, as Daniel explained, refers to the Babylonian Empire that ruled much of the world about 2600 years ago.

The Medo-Persian Empire. Daniel said that the head-of-gold empire would be followed by an empire symbolized by arms of silver. This refers to the Medo-Persian Empire which later conquered the Babylonian Empire. The two arms refer to the two groups - the Medes and the Persians - who comprised the Medo-Persian Empire.

The Grecian Empire. The third kingdom was symbolized by the statue’s belly and thighs of brass. This is a reference to the Grecian Empire, which conquered the Medo-Persian Empire. The symbol of a belly and thighs of brass suggests that the kingdom was to start out as a united empire but end up as a divided empire. Under the leadership of Alexander the Great, the Grecian Empire was a united empire. But after Alexander's death, the empire was divided into four parts and was later reduced to two parts.

The Roman Empire. The fourth symbol - that of iron legs and feet that were part iron and part clay - is a reference to the Roman Empire, which later conquered the Grecian Empire. The Roman Empire was very powerful, but it was also very diverse, claiming dominion over a wide variety of different nations. That diversity later contributed to the downfall of the empire.

The Millennial Reign. Daniel identifies a fifth and final kingdom - one symbolized by stone. This kingdom would be set up by God and would never be destroyed. Jesus would be the ruler and His followers would reign with Him.

The first four kingdoms ruled over much of the world, and each of the four ruled over the land of Israel during times in which a significant number of Jews - and perhaps a majority of Jews - were living in their homeland. Before the collapse of the Roman Empire, Jerusalem was destroyed and hundreds of thousands of Jews were forced into exile. Even today, a majority of Jews still live outside of Israel. It appears that the Roman Empire will be revived and will once again seek to control Israel. This can already be seen with the rise of the European Union. See Daniel 9:26-27; Daniel 8:9-14, 23-26; Daniel 7:23-27.

Now, if the prophecies of the first four kingdoms were literally fulfilled (and the prophecy of the fourth kingdom is again being fulfilled with the rise of the European Union), there should be no doubt that the prophecy of the fifth and final kingdom, God's kingdom, will be literally fulfilled.

James asks…

Sonia should go, says Venkataswamy. Will this demand gather momentum or dust?

http://www.thehindu.com/news/states/andhra-pradesh/article1147332.ece

Senior Congress leader member G. Venkataswamy triggered a storm in the party on Tuesday by demanding that AICC president Sonia Gandhi should relinquish her post and make way for a leader of Indian origin.

“I have serious doubts of the Congress coming back to power under Ms. Gandhi's leadership in the next elections. Out of the 28 States, the Congress is in power in only a handful. This number may become zero if she continues to be at the helm. Congress leaders have won elections based on the Congress party's symbol and not because of Ms. Gandhi,” he said.

Stating that the days of the Congress were numbered if Ms. Gandhi continued in the party for a minute more, Mr. Venkataswamy said, “Only people of Indian origin should hold the post of Congress party president.” Repeatedly questioning Ms. Gandhi's leadership, he said corruption had reached alarming proportions ever since she came to the helm.

admin answers:

Congress party needs to revamp itself.

Sonia should step down, not because she is of foreign origin, but because she has mismanaged the party and UPA. Thus her management of the coalition government is nothing more than treachery to the people's vote.

Congress is a versatile party with people from different walks of life and different political philosophies. This makes it easy for the nation as a political revolution could be achieved without any major riot or revolt. But if Congress fails to do so, the nation will descend into chaos just as it is going on in Egypt.

Her foreign origin is a futile argument as many People of Indian Origin (PIOs) have been active in politics outside India including Mahendra Chaudhry (Fiji) and SR Nathan (Singapore).

On totally different note:BJP is a wonderful alternative for those who want to convert India into an Hindu equivalent of fundamentalist Muslim nations like Pakistan.

The end of Muslim Leadership....

The year is 1924.
This year on the 4th of March was the 86th Anniversary of an event so momentous that we are still feeling the after-shocks of it today. It marked a turning point in history, but one that many people are blissfully unaware of. To fully appreciate it the significance of this anniversary, we must take ourselves back to Istanbul.

It is sometime after midnight. A single light, coming from the library, is on in the Dolmabache palace. There, an old man sits and reads the Quran pondering over the state of his Ummah. Even though he is surrounded by such opulence as the eye can barely contain, he cuts a lonely figure. His name is Abdul Mejeed and he is the 101st Caliph of Islam.

Two years ago, his cousin Muhammad VI had been exiled to Italy (where he later starved to death) and the Ottoman Sultanate had been abolished. The secular forces of the Young Turks had finally brought about the end of the Ottoman Empire, yet they didn’t feel they could abolish the Caliphate straight away. They began a campaign of violence and intimidation making sure that all those who would support the Caliph were removed from the picture.

Finally, on the night of March 4th, they made their move. A young army messenger opened the door to the library. The Caliph continued to read the Quran. The messenger initially was taken aback by the sight, but steeled himself and read out the proclamation from the Grand National Assembly. The Caliph refused to leave Istanbul, but his staff were worried that they would all be killed by the army that had now surrounded the palace. After weighing his few options, he reluctantly packed some of his clothes and went into exile.

Before Fajr prayer, the Caliph was taken to the main train station at gunpoint where he and his family were put on the Orient Express bound for Switzerland. An envelope containing £2000 was given to the man who left behind entire palaces full of diamonds, emeralds and gold. The station master quickly took the Caliph and his family into his small house adjoining the train station to shelter them from the cold on the platform whilst they awaited the train to start on its sad journey. As they drank tea, the Caliph thanked him for his hospitality. The station master, a Jew, began to cry. “How can you thank me?” he asked knowing that it was the Caliphs of Islam who had preserved the life and dignity of the Jewish people whenever they were persecuted elsewhere in the world. Instead, he thanked the Caliph for the honour of being able to serve him even if for the briefest moment.

In the morning, the Muslims awoke to the news that they had scarcely believed would ever happen – the Caliphate had been abolished. There were isolated riots and uprisings in various places, but the army put them down ruthlessly. The last Caliph spent his days walking along the promenade of a beach in Nice, France. There he lived a humble life until he died of a heart attack in 1944 during the Nazi occupation of France. Now, on the 86th anniversary of this earth-shattering event, the United States of America still has its President, England still has its Queen, and even the Catholics still have their Pope – but the Muslims are condemned to roam the wilderness leaderless. Caliph Abdul Majeed II was eventually buried in Jannat Al Baqi cemetery in Medina. Amidst the great heroes of Islam’s past was laid to rest our most potent symbol of a fractured present. There to this day, the first and the last Caliph of Islam lie within a few yards of each other – a reminder of a once great Muslim nation that has no one to lead it.
