| Substance Abuse Therapist Needed | Position Summary: The Substance Abuse Contractual Therapist, in the Adult Substance Abuse Program is responsible for maintaining a caseload consisting of substance abuse/chemically dependent clients. The therapist is required to conduct intake assessments, to maintain the case record in a timely fashion, to complete authorizations with various funding sources in a timely manner as required, and to conduct appropriate individual and group psychotherapy. Regular working hours vary depending upon the availability of the Substance Abuse Therapist and program needs. It is common for Contractual Staff to work a minimum of 1 hour per week and a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. Regular working hours for RFT staff are Monday through Friday 8:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Specific Responsibilities: 1. Assess and document the needs of clients who present themselves for outpatient substance abuse services utilizing Person-Centered Planning principals. 2. Provide individual, group therapy and family therapy as requested. 3. Provide substance abuse education, coaching and training. 4. Work collaboratively with others in relation to the client and family including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, school personnel and other family service or support people. 5. Advocate on behalf of the client to assist them in meeting their needs and reaching their desired level of self-sufficiency. 6. Make referrals to Child Protective Services as required. 7. Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings and case consultations. 8. Complete clinical records and agency documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and procedures of the Guidance Center. 9. Follow The Guidance Center's professional code of ethics. 10. Complete 25 hours of substance abuse specific training on an annual basis. 11. Fulfills all other obligations of individual professional service contract. 12. Other duties as needed.
