Job Summary:

Dow Jones Newswires is seeking a London-based writer for a one year fixed term contract to cover the economies of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The ideal candidate will have a background in economics or business writing or a higher degree in economics. Candidates with prior experience somewhere in the EMEA region will be favored. Knowledge of one or more foreign languages will be helpful. This job requires flexibility and creativity. Coverage will include spot data and statistics, rapid analysis of the broader macroeconomy and the effects of politics and policy on individuals, households, companies and sectors. Must be a self-starter who is able to juggle day-to-day coverage with a full list of detail-rich and lively features and insightful deeper look behind the numbers.
