Reporter/writer for Online News Site

Job Summary:

Thompson Publishing Group, a leader in the business-to-business publishing and information services industry, is seeking an experienced freelance reporter/writer for a new online news site. This reporter will play a lead role in writing news for a variety of state and local officials dealing with homeland security programs and issues. You will write enterprise stories about state and local best practices, as well as cover federal and congressional activities on this important issue. This is not a web editor or developer position. A minimum of five years' experience in news reporting and writing, preferably for online news outlets and/or covering state or local government, a journalism or related bachelor's degree, a nose for news, and innovative news gathering skills required.
