Graphic Novel about an Irish hermit/monk living on an island near Rikers island. He Conducts subversive message-oriented night-time missions in NYC. He was also trained as an assassin in Japan.

Description of project:

Colin Patrick is nicknamed The Night Heron by New Yorkers that have seen him in his sparse and secretive hermitage on an island near Rikers. This is his story - beginning in Ireland and through turbulent teen years when his life was devasted by the catholic/protestant violence and a heroin addiction. Through a series of events he ends up living in Tokyo, works for his girlfriend's father who is a powerful Yakuza figure. He is trained in stealth and killing. He escapes, putting them forever on his trail because he has dishonored them. He returns to Ireland and recieves secretive religious training where he discovers his lineage to a pre-christian Irish hero/warrior and a connection to St. Patrick himself. Eventually is forced to flee as the Yakuza catch up with him. This is why he ends up in NYC.

Skill requirements:

Must be able to draw fluid, graceful comic book style art. Must have or be willing to learn about Celtic and Japanese imagery and art, as character and scenery elements will make this necessary.
