Linux based email to TIF parser

Job Summary:

Script or program to take an RFC-2822 email on filesystem and convert to a multi-page TIF.

Description of project:

I'm looking to have either a shell script, perl script, PHP script or whatever which will take an RFC-2822 compliant email already saved on the file system and convert it to a nice looking multi-page TIF. I would like attachments to be parsed out of the email, decoded, and saved to the filesystem along with the TIF. If the email contains html or rich text formatting, I would like that formatting to translate as the sender intended into the TIF so the email looks like what the recipient would see. Also, I'd like the important parts of the header parsed out into an XML file. Important parts being from address, to address, subject, cc, bcc, date and time.
