AOL Local/Digital City, the Web's leading city guide, seeks freelance writers to cover the South Florida (from West Palm Beach to Miami) entertainment scene. If you're an expert in arts/culture events and venues, and if you're a talented writer who can weave details and fun, creative language into 150-word descriptions, they want to hear from you.

Skill requirements:

To be considered, please write descriptions of two venues (or two events) you love in the South Florida area. Please choose your venues/events to highlight your particular area of expertise. Include the correct address and phone number at the top of each description. Also send your resume and a brief letter explaining why you think you'd be a great match for this assignment. Please proofread your materials carefully -- they are picky about spelling and grammar. Include all materials within the body of a single e-mail. No attachments will be accepted. AP style is used and the tone is very direct and conversational. Avoid cliches and flowery or academic writing. Please include local flavor. Don't be afraid to use pop culture references. Owing to the large volume of applications it will not be possible to respond to all email applications individually.
